Sant ’Anna School of Advanced Studies
Sant ’Anna School of Advanced Studies (SSSA) is an Italian public university with a long experience in promoting higher education and research through a multidisciplinary approach. The Center of Plant Science (CSP) is one of the Research centres of the SSSA. It is composed of 4 research areas (Plant Molecular Physiology, Plant Genetics and Genomics, Climate change and Agroecology).
The CSP conducts research in agroecology covering various topics such as functional biodiversity, plant dynamics, insect and microorganism interactions, and agrobiodiversity management. The researchers at CSP manage numerous long-term research experiments in different production systems and contexts, with a strong inter- and transdisciplinary approach. Collaboration with national and international research groups is also fostered.
The Group of Agroecology involved in this project is focused on the study and development of participatory approach to involve farmers and stakeholders in trying and evaluate digital tools to sustain a sustainable cropping systems transitions toward an agroecological approach.
Role in the project
SSSA’s main role in the project is the work package lead on “Co-creating digital agroecology transformation” (WP4). Moreover, SSSA leads the task 6.3 on Compilation of a Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA)Technology mapping. SSSA is also involved in WPs 1,2,3,6,7 and 8 as contributor.
